The sun is shining again.

The rain has been endlessly pouring for days now. I don't know if it's a good thing though. It kinda makes me sad that there are a lot of people who do not have houses to cover them from the cold freezing rain. It's depressing. I do hope they're okay though. But the rain isn't that bad, it washed away dirt and quenched the need of thirsty plants. It also gave us a break from the glaring sun.

But I miss the sun. AND FINALLY, it has come out again. Hoping it would be long :) There are a lot of things we could do under the sun and it seems more happy too! :)

#2: 100 Things I'm Thankful for

A very loud #2 on my list in 100 Things I'm Thankful for is: MY FRIENDS! Yeah! \m/

I can't describe how thankful I am for their presence in my life! Near of far, wherever they are, they bring both happiness and joy to me. They're like the siblings I never had. They accept me for who I am and they keep me grounded. They have been witnesses of my life's adventures. Throughout the joy and pain, they've been there for me all the way.

We were so young then indeed. My only photo of my 2nd year in High-school.

They're crazy, obnoxious, loud, weird but they're also supportive, honest, and true. I love you guys to bits and pieces. HAHAHA!!

“Even though we've changed and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all still friends." A quote i got somewhere which rings true about how I feel towards these crazies. :)

Why I love Paris :>

I am often asked by friends on where will I be 10 years from now and I always answer all of them the same thing: "I shall be riding a bike in Paris with a scarf and a camera around my neck." And they'd go: "Why does everyone want to live in Paris, anyway?" Makes sense. Most people I know would want to step on the streets of Paris at least once in their lifetime. But what is it really with Paris that enchants us to be there that even make girls, like me, swoon? Here are some theories to which I think people, me included, would want to live in Paris.

1. FOOD. Haven't you seen reality cooking shows lately? From Masterchef to Hell's Kitchen, all they want to replicate and serve is FRENCH food. And by the looks of it, it really looks incredibly delicious!

2. HISTORY. In our Hist 102 class, France was really magnified in our discussions. I realized that every revolution rooted from the infamous French Revolution where it sprung from the heart of France which is Paris. Historically, the place is full-packed with so many events that shaped not only European history but of the world as well.

3. ARCHITECTURE. I'm a fan of buildings and design and yes, I'm totally mesmerized by France's structures especially the Eiffel tower and the Louvre. It can be seen that throughout history their structures have been the highlight to tourists.

4. FASHION. Need I say more? :)

5. LIGHT. I always get confused whether or not Paris is a City of Love or Lights. Nonetheless, Paris has always been known to have good lighting. From a book I read The Story Sisters, Paris' daylight shifts from orange to purple. Imagine that.

6. LIFESTYLE. French, especially the Parisian, are well-known for their sophisticated and fun lifestyle. They do not live to work but the other way around. They have mastered the art of enjoying life, well who wouldn't when you're living in one of the most wonderful places in the world?

7. Paris is MAGIC!! (*insert fireworks)
Maybe its the whole romantic note that is attached in popular films that coming to Paris is Oh so Magical. When we watch romantic films or chic-flicks, Paris is always attached to romance and love that our notions of destiny and true love would always be tied with the Eiffel tower, its sidewalk cafes and even the smooth lazy music. And that may be it. Call me dreamy but I myself would want to find love and magic that can never be found in any other place in the world except for the City of Love: Paris.

But hey, I don't know. Haven't been there either but I want to be. I really do. But from a line I got from the movie: I am Number Four: "You can go wherever you want. See whatever you want to but, um... a place is only as good as the people you know in it."

Paris, Venice, Rio, or even Philippines - It doesn't matter so long as you're happy. :)

As cliche as it might get, I am still holding on to my dream. One day, I'm going to live in Paris! À bientôt! :)

#1: 100 Things I'm Thankful For

Clearly, I'm a Daddy's girl :*
# 1 on my list of the Things I'm thankful for is: MY FAMILY! I swear I wouldn't survive in this world without them. They may seem really complicated and crazy (?) but they're perfect just the way they are. My family is the backbone of who I am today. It's true that we can't choose our family but if I ever go back to start and be born the 2nd time around, I'd pray it would still be them over and over again.

Papa and I.

Strong & Beautiful women I look up to in my life: Mama and Ate.

An addition to the Family: My Sister and her beautiful Family.(left) Manoy and Me. Kids at heart still. (right)

100 Things I'm Thankful For

Last Thursday at the most boring class of my semester, I chatted with one of my closest friends. We talked about how certain things in her boyfriend's life got so complicated and messed up. There were a lot of crises that he was facing, my friend's challenged to become even more stronger. We talked about how fast things change in just a split second and how that change could drastically affect one's life. Like the illness that's slowly taking away the father of her boyfriend's life. It was sad because one way or another, that's the reality each of us has to face- death. But I believe with all my heart that everything's going to turn out just fine. Suddenly, Reg gets her journal and asked me to write the things she dictated. She told me to write - Things I'm thankful for. I was moved. I was happy because despite the sadness, we found the true meaning of what we talked about earlier - acknowledging all the good things that life has brought you and being thankful for every single one of it, the good and the bad. Because you'll never know what you have until it's gone.
So, I decided to make this installment/list to remind me everyday that life is... Beautiful. It has a lot to offer and all we have to do is notice it and somehow make it all worthwhile. Whenever I'm sad or blue, I shall go back to this page and be reminded of the good things in life, things that should not be taken for granted. I am aware that a list of 100 does not cover all the things God has brought unto us which we should all be thankful for, but this is a start. We'll see where this one goes. :)

Whoever got lost and stumbled unto this blog and happened to read this, hello to you! I am hoping that you too are inspired to create something like this or anything of the like. I hope you felt the same way when my friend created her list too. Let's breathe life and enjoy it! :))

Shoes are made for walking.

A lot of us especially those who are heartbroken and in pain feel that at times they are neglected. I feel you dude, I for one, have been there too. But are we really neglected? We have friends, we have our family and we have all the other things that actually make life worthwile. If I had to choose something that is neglected the most, I'd probably pick my shoes. Sometimes we are so consumed of the bad things, we forgot the things that helped us move on and be happy.

Our shoes experience the harshest conditions and the most challenging circumstances in our individual lives, at least physically. They protect us from almost anything - from dirty roads, mud, thorns and even teeny-tiny worms. But afterall, that's what they're made of. Shoes are made for walking. I'm glad actually. They carry your weight (heavy or not) yet they take you to unexpected places - a witness to your journey, my journey for example.

I have tons of paperwork and studying to do for finals but here I am blogging myself away. Just realized how lucky I am to have shoes when others do not own even a single pair. Spare me now for I am experiencing a little, let's say, depression maybe? and the only thing that kept me going was my little red shoe.

I left home today feeling kinda down which explains my whole black-rocker-inspired-look - Jet black pants, faded black kiss shirt and of course, the only thing that brightened up my gloomy outfit - my red shoe. To make things worse, it started raining. And i thought about my shoes, they're gonna get wet and soon enouh they'll be ruined and i have to throw them out again. Which is such a waste of money and emotional investment. I have grown to love them and just because I used them on the wrong day destroyed them and so on.

So I took the liberty with the grace of my camera phone to take a picture of my shoe and decided to take pictures of it in places where it brought me at this span of day. The picture to the left is at the outside of my house waiting for a tricycle to bring me to where I'm supposed to be. I'm actually thinking of going to school, maybe not? Kidding. XD

Forgive me for a very pixelated photo but these are the photos with my red shoe when i was travelling to my destination. The first and the second one is on a tricycle. I was riding from my house to the jeepney terminal just so i can ride the v-hire going to SM. I wandered around the mall looking at people's shoes. Sad though that I wasn't able to take pictures of them. It would be rude right? Soon I'll have to do that though given the time and opportunity of course. When it was past 12:45 i bought brownies for my closest friends at school and rode the taxi which explains the 3rd photo. See how a shoe could see all your adventures and misadventures? Not that my day was getting interesting...

And after a tiring traffic on a going-sunny-rainy-day, I finally arrived at school which is the 1st of the 3 photos above. Can u see my shadow? That's me with my shoulder bag and a bag of brownies. Class was boring, as usual. I was at my very last subject of the day in the 2nd photo. We had our final examination which asked just one question and its about Sustainable Development! AH HA! It was boggling, so many words but too tired to write. I got over it though and so I went to our MALAX tambayan to have our general meeting yet I got stood up. Glad that I had friends with me who were willing to waste 2 hours with me. That's the 3rd photo. I was sitting and talking to my friends. You see, my red shoe was a witness to all that. Although I had pretty down moments, I was still happy I put on this red number. I forgot how tiring it must be for the shoe too. But heck, these shoes are made for walking so they'll be okay as long as I will be as well.

I went home. I was rested and so is my shoe. I realized a lot of things today, things i cannot fully recount. The world may desert me but my shoe won't. That's for sure. It brought me to different places and it brought me back home. Oh, how i love shoes.

P.S. Funny how i can write a lot of random things about a shoe but i can't even start the very first paragraph of my term paper. Shoot me please haha
